 Bruna  -

blauw vierkantje - illu Bosnië-Herzegovina  -  Willem Campschreur

Medjugorje is the Shrine of Our Lady located among the hills in the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It's always been a safe place to go. According to six teenagers the Blessed Mother appeared in this small village on June 24th 1981 on a hillside and since then She appears every single day, even today.
blauw vierkantje - illu Mostar  -  officiële website
Mostar is an extraordinary town in every sense of the word. The beauty goes far beyond its ancient Babylon like 'Olde Towne' and the old bridge that once stood uniting the city from the rugged emerald Neretva River. Mostar was the city with the most mixed marriages in the former Yugoslavia...not a mosaic of cultures and traditions but a real melting pot of them. The Mediterranean climate makes it the warmest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina with mostly sunny days and clear blue skies. The Neretva turns the dry arid surroundings green with figs, kiwis, grapes, pome granites, rose hips, and even mandarins and lemons.
blauw vierkantje - illu Neum
With its 24 km. of splendidly diversified coast, Neum is the only entrance of BiH to the sea. Its proximity of significant, interesting and attractive towns such as Dubrovnik, Mostar, Korcula, Hutovo Blato and Medjugorje enhances the entire tourist offer of Neum and makes it even more attractive for trips, outings, and large group tours.
blauw vierkantje - illu Prijedor  -  Republika Srpska
Prijedor lies on the banks of the river Sana and foothill of Kozara. Kozara is 75 kilometers long (the highest peaks are Lisina 978 meters and Rudine 920 meters). It's rich in forest and suitable for going in for winter sports. Ski - lift and ski - tracks were made before the War. Members of mountaineer societies and scouts use every free moment for organization of mountaineer tracks and clubs. There are rehabilitation center "Banja Mljecanica" and thermal spring "Ljesljani" near the town. There is also fish pond "Sanicani" which makes fishing

blauw vierkantje - illu Travnik
Travnik, the former residence of the rulers of Bosnia, is now the administrative political center of Central Bosnia. Travnik is situated in the narrow valley of the Lasva River which is bordered by Vlasic mountain to the north and Mt. Vilenica to the south. Wherever you may wander here you will find traces of rich culture and eventful history. Like other central Bosnia towns, Travnik has well preserved its medieval character. The ancient castle is of particular interest with its still intact city walls and piercing fortresses used to defend the city from outside invaders.
Travnik was once the 'European Istanbul'. It boasted many Ottoman mosques and Islamic schools, and was a main trading post between Dubrovnik to Belgrade. Many beautiful rivers and river sources run through Travnik ... the old town is especially blessed with cascades, brooks and fountains.
blauw vierkantje - illu Trebinje
It's the southern most town in Bosnia and Herzegovina located only a half-hour from the famous town of Dubrovnik. Trebinje, too, has a rich history that dates far back into the middle ages. The town is surrounded by high dry southern Dinaric Alp mountains and fed by long and fertile valleys. Trebinje is a warm, sunny place with a truly authentic Herzegovina ambiance.

 Sevdalinka
Derived from the Turkish word sevda (love), sevdalinka songs were the most widespread form of music in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Incorporating both Western and Eastern elements, these deeply emotional songs speak metaphorically and symbolically of love won and lost; they came to symbolize Bosnia to natives and foreigners alike.
Sevdalinke is traditionally performed with a saz, a Turkish string instrument.
