Aglantzia is Nicosia's highest suburb, since its largest part is built either on hills or on hillsides or at tableland level. Aglantzia was built in mediaeval times, before Ottoman rule, on an important site for defensive purposes, the existence of natural resources and its healthy climate.
The natural environment of Aglantzia is unique, being not only endowed with the big lung of Nicosia, Athalassa Forest, but also with Ayiou Georgiou park, Aglantzia Municipal park, as well as 45 small parks and green spaces.
Aglantzia is built along the road, which led from Nicosia to Larnaca before the invasion.

De stad is in 1974 grotendeels verlaten (uitgezonderd het noordoostelijk deel, waar nu Turken wonen) door al zijn inwoners en heeft sinds die tijd geen menselijke inwoners meer gehad.
De stad is nu omgeven door een hek en wordt beschouwd als niemandsland dat voor geen van beide partijen toegankelijk is.

Kyrenia, the capital town of the district of Kyrenia, lies on the northern part of the island of Cyprus. The district, the smallest of the island, extends form Cape Kormakitis to include a large portion of the Kyrenia Mountains and ends about midway on the island's northern coast at the area known as «Achaean» shore. This toponym dates to the end of the Trojan war when many settlers arrived there from Achaea in the Peloponnese and established towns in the district. Evidence from archeological sites excavated in and around the town of Kyrenia bespeak of the area's settlement since the Neolithic period, 5800-3000 BC. Moreover, many Mycenaean, Geometric and Achaean tombs dating from 1300-500 BC, were also discovered. A fine climate, fertile soil and an abundance of water offered ideal conditions for the town's early settlement.

Latsia is situated at about 7Km (4.34 miles) to the south of Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, extending to an area of 16,28 sq.Km (6.29 sq. miles) and with a population of over 12.500-13.000. Through the Municipality flow torrents Drakontias and Kaloyeros, both branches of the river Vathys, which in turn is a confluent of the Pedieos river, one of the largest rivers in Cyprus.

Limassol ligt aan de zuidkust van het eiland, aan de Middellandse Zee. De baai waaraan de stad ligt, heet de Akrotiri Baai. Vanuit Limasol kan men andere steden op Cyprus, zoals de hoofdstad Nicosia, Larnaca en Paphos, eenvoudig per bus of taxi bereiken.

Mesa Yitonia Municipality is located in the middle of the Limassol city towards the North. Although, it is the smallest Municipality in Cyprus in respect of its size, it is not in any aspect the least important.
 Paphos / Pafos
Paphos is zeer geliefd bij toeristen. Het heeft mooie stranden, en verder is de natuur in en rond het Troödosgebergte ook zeer rijk aan vegetatie en bezienswaardigheden.
Paphos ligt in het zuidwesten van Cyprus.
Grieks-Cypriotisch Paphos is een badplaats met de ideale vakantiemix van een bruisend uitgaansleven, mooie bergmassieven, boeiende mythologische cultuur en goede mogelijkheden tot duiken.
Niet ver van de stad steekt de rots van Aphrodite (Petra tou Romiou) uit de zee op. Volgens legendes zou Aphrodite, de godin van de schoonheid, hier geboren zijn uit de golven van de zee.
Vanwege de grote archeologische waarde ervan staat de hele stad op de werelderfgoedlijst van de UNESCO.
 Paralimni - Paralimni Municipality 
Endless sandy beaches, secluded coves and wide bays set the scene in this attractive sun laden sandy seaside resort where lively sea sports play out across the horizon almost year round. The coves are great for snorkeling and diving and the wide bays are conducive to windsurfing in safety. Sailing, parachuting, waterskiing and jet skiing are all daily colorful activity.  Polis - Polis Chrysochous Municipality 
Polis is located North West of the region of Pafos at a 30 minute distance from the town of Pafos, 45 minutes from Pafos airport and less than 2 hours away from Larnaca airport.

In addition to a wealth of outdoor sites, many artifacts are attractively displayed in museums, such as The Cyprus Museum, in Nicosia — itself one of the oldest cities in the world. There you can see domestic objects dating almost from the dawn of time, including stone vessels and pottery, and evidence of the islands warlike past — fine examples of weaponry and hunting paraphernalia.


Opmerking - Turkish area administrative divisions include Kyrenia, all but a small part of Famagusta, and small parts of Nicosia and Larnaca.
