The island of Agathonisi is about 15 nm from Leros-Panteli, 10-15 nm from the westerly located islands of

Kalymnos - Kalymnos Island - to the west of the peninsula of Bodrum
Located between the islands of Kos [ 12 Km ] and Leros [ less than 2 Km ]. Said to be the wealthiest island of
the Dodecanese and one of the wealthiest Greek islands. The district capital of Kalymnos, situated in a natural
amphitheatre, is Pothia, which is the main port of the island. Other destinations : Arginonta, Armeos, Chora,
Emporios, Kamari, Kantouni, Massouri, Melitsaha, Myrties / Sykia, Panormos, Platys Gialos, Skalia, Telendos and Vathis.

Zo'n beetje halfweg tussen Rhodos en Antalya. The island is mountainous, with high and rough coasts. There
are a number of notable sea caves including the so called Blue Grotto which is much larger than it's
namesake in Capri. Kastellorizo, the only settlement of the island, is both the harbor and the capital of the

Nisyros - Nisyros Island - tussen de eilanden Kos en Tilos
The island of Nisyros is almost circular-shaped. In fact it's about a volcanic cone containing one of the most ancient and bigger volcanic craters in the Mediterranean.
Around Nisyros there are the islets of Gyali, where there is a pumice stone excavation pit, and obsidian
excavation during ancient years, as well Kantilioussa, Pyrgoussa, Stroggili and Pachia. The main town and port of the island is Mandraki. Other villages are Paloi, Nikeia and Emporios.
Spa tourism : the abundant thermal springs constitute another characteristic feature of the island of Nisyros.
In several points along the island's beachside hot water is welling out with a variation from 30 to 60 degrees.
Patmos - meest noordelijke eiland van de Dodecanesos
Patmos is a tourist attraction because of its natural beauty and its religious sanctuaries. Its main communities
are Chora [ capital city ] and Skala, the only commercial port. Other settlements : Grikou and Kampos.

The Dodecanese have been inhabited since prehistoric times. In the oldest historic period, they formed part of
the Minoan civilization for several millennia. Following the downfall of the Minoans, the islands were ruled by
the Achaeans from circa 1400 BC, until the arrival of the Dorians circa 1100 BC. It is in the Dorian period that
they began to prosper as an independent entity, developing a thriving economy and culture through the
following centuries. By the early Archaic period Rhodes and Kos emerged as the major islands in the group,
and in the 6th century BC the Dorians founded three major cities on Rhodes (Lindos, Kameiros and Ialyssos);
together with the island of Kos and the cities of Knidos and Halicarnassos on the mainland of Asian Minor, these made up the Dorian Hexapolis ..... see further Nationmaster

in the bay of Elaaris (water skiing), on the island of Diakoftis (near to the cape Agios Theodoros), along the
coast line from Paliokastro to Foiniki, near to Agios Pantele'i'monas (Bay of Proni), Lefko, near Agios Georgios
and Agia Irini (centre west Karpathos), Limeni, Fises(NW Karpathos) and from there (NE Karpathos) Vananta,
Diafani, Agios Minas, Agios Nikolaos (east), Apela Kyra Panagia and finally Achata. Other good bathing spots are Amorfos, Forokli, Kari and Nati.
