Hoboken is a densely populated city on the west bank of the Hudson River in Hudson County, New Jersey, just across from Manhattan.
Hoboken was originally an island, surrounded by the Hudson River on the east and a swamp at the foot of the New Jersey Palisades on the west. It was used seasonally as a campsite by the Lenni Lenape Native Americans until they fell victim to war, disease and forced migration brought by Europeans in the 17th century.

Together with Elizabeth, Linden is home to the Bayway Refinery, a ConocoPhillips refining facility that helps supply petroleum-based products to the New York/New Jersey area
 Long Branch - City of Long Branch
In years past, Long Branch was a major destination for beachgoers, along with the more famous Asbury Park , and enjoyed an upscale connotation with tourists. Long Branch is home to Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park, named for the United States presidents who visited the fashionable resort town, including Ulysses S. Grant, Chester A. Arthur, Rutherford Hayes, Benjamin Harrison, William McKinley, Woodrow Wilson and James Garfield.
 New Brunswick - City of New Brunswick
Originally inhabited by the Lenape Native Americans, the first settlement was made in 1681 by immigrants from Europe. The place was first called Prigmore's Swamp, (1681-97), then Inian's Ferry, (1691-1714), and finally New Brunswick in honor of the House of Brunswick. Centrally located between New York City and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and situated along the Raritan River, New Brunswick became an important hub for Colonial travelers and traders.

Located north of Newark on the Passaic River, it was first settled in 1678 by Dutch traders, as Acquackanonk Township. The city and river draw their name from the Lenape word "pahsayèk" meaning "valley".
Southwest Passaic (known as Passaic Park) is a residential and institutional center of Orthodox Judaism, being home to numerous yeshivas as well as Orthodox synagogues, schools, other institutions.

Perth Amboy was settled in 1683 and incorporated as a city in 1718. It was founded by English merchants, Scots seeking religious freedom, and French Protestants. They sought to use Perth Amboy's harbor to its full potential. Perth Amboy was a resort town in the 1800s and early 20th century.
Perth Amboy, and South Amboy across the Raritan River, are collectively referred to as The Amboys.

 Princeton - Princetown Township
The recorded history of the Princeton area began in the late 17th century when European travelers crossed the narrow "waist" of New Jersey between the Delaware and Raritan rivers along paths created by the Lenni Lenape Indians. Portions of these paths survive in present day Nassau and Stockton Streets, Princeton -Kingston Road, Princeton-Lawrenceville Road, and Mount Lucas Road. One former path became the King's Highway and central New Jersey's main road for well over a hundred years.
Princeton is home to Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton University, and Westminster Choir College.
The university campus lies mostly within Princeton Borough, but parts of it extend into Princeton Township, and it has fields and a separate exclave in West Windsor Township. The university was chartered in 1746 and is one of two universities in New Jersey to be chartered before the American Revolution (Rutgers University is the other).
 Union City - City of Union City - dichtsbevolkte stad van VS
The area of what is today Union City was originally inhabited by the Lenape Native Americans, but was later settled by the Germans in 1851, who moved across the Hudson River from New York in search of affordable land and open space. From the mid-1800s to the early 1900s, German Americans and Dutch dominated the area. They, along with Swiss and Austrian immigrants, founded the European-style lace making industries, for which they were famous. Union City and West New York became the "embroidery capitol of the United States", and the embroidery industry's trademark is on the Union City Seal.

Vineland was formerly the poultry capital of the United States. Vineland has quite a few registered historical sites, with some on the National Register of Historic Places.
