The Shadows-on-the-Teche is an antebellum historic house museum property of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. It's dedicated to telling the story of life on a nineteenth-century southern Louisiana plantation - and we the museum does so annually to over 25,000 people from around the world. It's located in the lush semi -tropical city of New Iberia, Louisiana, set among towering live oak trees, draped with Spanish moss swaying in the breeze off the Bayou Teche, bathed by the sunlight as it gently shines across the trees casting shadows on the house and the flowing muddy waters of the bayou.
